Due to an extended period from 1980 to 2009 where massive amounts of the current Ballito houses, townhouses and apartments were built the area, like many of South Africa’s coastal towns, has seen a large uptick in the percentage of the real estate in the areas sectional title (townhouses, flats, apartments etc) sector.

Ballito is positioned some 40 kilometres to the north of Durban in KZN and is part of the ILembe district and KwaDukuza local municipality.
 
With the moving of the Durban main airport to the newly built King Shaka International Airport (32 kilometres from Durban and almost three times bigger than the old Durban International Airport), access to owners of property in Ballito from the likes of Johannesburg and Pretoria has been improved dramatically and affords easy access.
 
The new commercial business park alongside the N2 highway has added to the Ballito area’s appeal as it makes the transmogrification from being primarily a holiday home town to one catering for permanent residents and commuters.
 
The change is the surrounding areas and Ballito’ location lends itself to expansion and has contributed to making Ballito houses and property more attractive to investors, semi-grators and holiday home buyers with an eye on permanent relocation due to the areas increasing opportunities from a commercial standpoint.
