Renowned for surfing, especially during winter months Victoria Bay is a cove enclosed by cliffs. Many competitions have been held here as a result of the high quality wave that Vic Bay produces.
The small, sheltered holiday resort, with large tidal pools provides for great safe bathing and good angling opportunities.
For the golfers this town offers 2 of the top 10 golf courses in South Africa. Fancourt Hotel & Country Club Estate is South Africa's premier golfing and leisure resort. For the outdoors types there is also flying, gliding, horse riding, squash, tennis and a variety of hiking trails and mountain biking.
When visiting George make sure no to miss taking a ride on the Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe. This is South Africa's last scheduled steam train and runs betweenKnysna and George.
You can then check out the Transport Museum. Set in the most breathtaking scenery it is a must see, as is the Garden Route Botanical Garden and the Outeniqua Nature Reserve.

- The Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe train runs between George and Knysna and offers nostalgic journey with the most amazing views.
