This Family-Friendly Suburb in Johannesburg is situated in the northern suburbs. Its proximity to important facilities is excellent and makes it a popular choice.

Abbotsford is easily accessible from the Johannesburg CBD via the M1 highway. The suburb is also well-served by public transportation, with bus routes connecting it to other parts of the city.  The major roads in Abbotsford are Atholl-Oaklands Road, Glenhove Road, and Bompas Road.                                  The Business Hubs of JHB CBD, Parktown, Rosebank, Illovo, Melrose Arch & Sandton can be accessed via these roads.

Rodean, St John's College, St Mary's, Kingsmead & Pridwin are among the outstanding schools within a reasonable commutable distance from Abbotsford.  King Edwards, Parktown Boys High, Waverley & Hyde Park High are some of the choices of High Schools.  There're several primary & pre-school options as well. Wits University is about a 15-minute drive & University of Johannesburg 25-minutes.

Abbotsford neighbours suburbs with fabulous upmarket shopping malls with a wide selection of popular chain stores as well as exclusive Boutiques. These are BluBird Shopping Centre, Rosebank Mall, Melrose Arch, Hyde Park Shopping Centre & Sandton City. There's an extensive choice of recommended restaurants here too.

Medical Facilities nearby are world class with a wide range of Medical Professionals equipment & treatments.  Rosebank & Morningside Clinics are the two closest and both offer 24-hour ER.

Abbotsford is home to the beautiful James & Ethel Gray Park.  Here one can cycle, jog, walk your dog or bird watch. The popular AcroBranch Centre is also found here.

Wanderers Sports Club is close by as are a few Golf Clubs. Gym Clubs are found in all the neigbouring suburbs.

The most common types of properties in Abbotsford are single-family homes and apartments.  The apartments range from entry level to exclusive design.  The houses have generous proportions & have large gardens.  They are mostly older homes, but some have been stylishly revamped.

This clean, well-maintained, ideally situated suburb with a strong sense of community is certainly a great option.
