Noordhoek at a glance

Just below the southern slopes of Chapman's Peak on the west coast of the Cape Peninsula is the suburb of Noordhoek.
Famous for its long wide sandy beach, vast wetlands and Milkwood forest, Noordhoek is a rural gem.
The 8 kilometre expanse of untouched beach stretches down to the south to the neighboring village of Kommetjie where you will find the most well-known wreck of a steamship "Kakapo" which ran aground over a century ago.
Although filled with historical landmarks, the houses in Noordhoek are both contemporary and modern.
These lovely lands are home to many a horse farm making it an equestrian enthusiast's paradise and that long and wide beach-front ideal for horse trails, be that with your own horse or visiting one of the friendly family farms in the area for the day.
According to the most recent statistics, the split on housing in Noordhoek is between residential estates and freehold homes - which are pretty even, with 56% estate ownership and 44% freehold ownerships. This is great for a person wanting a lock and go type of lifestyle, or the home-oriented person wanting to spend time gardening.
There are several good schools to choose from in Noordhoek, whether you are looking for public or private schooling, Noordhoek offers both.  This may also be the contributing factor to other recent purchase statistics in the area showing the main demographic of people staying and purchasing in the area is the middle-aged (36-49), although there has been a rise in the young adults group (18-35) and first time buyers purchasing in the area.
The average house prices in the picturesque suburb of Noordhoek doubled between 2013 and 2014 from R1.4 million to R2.8 million.  With only 37 properties (average for the last 3 years) going on sale each year, housing in this area is well sought after and a sale will be completed in no time.
This community thrives on its arts and culture and enjoys a burgeoning arts and crafts market. Every modern convenience can also be found in Noordhoek with a large shopping mall where all your banking and daily shopping can be done.
Noordhoek is surrounded by and home to some award winning vineyards, making some of the best wine in South Africa and internationally. What makes this so unique is that this is one of only a handful of locations in the world where vineyards are grown,  a stone throw from the coast, amongst an abundance of indigenous proteas, fynbos and
Milkwood groves that can be enjoyed from several hiking trails within the area.
Most certainly a family friendly area with a number of farms and small holdings aimed at family days out offering interaction with the animals in forms of petting zoos.
