Amandasig Property
To give just a few examples of these suburbs, Amandasig lies in Akasia beneath the Magaliesberg and is close to other suburbs with girls' names - Clarina, Karenpark, Chantelle, Ninapark and Theresapark.
Amandasig has the distinct quality of being out of the city, mostly because of the proximity of the hills that are the lower swells of the Magaliesberg. The attraction about staying there is being well out of the city centre and living just across from the Magaliesberg. Many homes still has open land areas and that gives it a feel of being out in the country.

It lies just north of Akasia. To the north of Karenpark is Onderstepoort which is the Veterinary Science faculty of the University of Pretoria, and the nature reserve of the same name is a pretty leafy escape with an area of rehabilitated bushveld. The Wonderboom Nature Reserve is just 20 kilometres from Karenpark.
Pretoria North Property
Another suburb worth mentioning is Pretoria North.
Despite sounding as if it should describe a collection of suburbs north of the city centre of Pretoria, Pretoria North is in fact a suburb in its own right. It lies north of the Magaliesberg range of mountains that is the accepted boundary between town and the northern suburbs; further north even than the suburbs of Rietfontein, Villieria and Wonderboom South, Pretoria North lies on the other side of the Apies River from Annlin.
These suburbs are close to the Rosslyn Industrial Area, Akasia Medical Clinic, Wonderpark Shopping Mall, Karenpark Crossing Mall and Onderstepoort's faculty of Veterinary Science. Quick “weekend get-aways” includeHartbeespoort Dam, theWonderboom Nature Reserve and the Magaliesberg Meander are also close by.
De Wildt
Just North-East of Karenpark lies De Wildt and De Wildt Cheetah and Wildlife Centre which is famous for its captive breeding programmes and for bringing cheetah back from the edge of extinction. It was founded in 1971 by Ann van Dyk on her farm out here near Karenpark, at a time when there were roughly 700 cheetahs estimated in Southern Africa, she persevered until five cheetah cubs were finally born successfully into captivity - a first - in 1975. Since then, and despite setbacks, she has gone on to raise another 500 cheetahs, which have subsequently settled in game reserves in South Africa and abroad, and the cheetah is no longer on the endangered species list in this country.
