8 Unconventional Ideas to Elevate a Show Day

We asked our agents what they believe would transform a show day from humdrum to seriously happening, and they had some sensational ideas!

Live entertainment

One agent suggested a live musician co-hosting a show day, which we think could work particularly well for high-end properties.

Give tips to sellers

Guide the seller on how to best prepare their home for visitors, such as concealing clutter, having a spotless kitchen and infusing a gentle fragrance into the space.

Host a 'Family Fun' show day

Showcase a family home by having a jumping castle on site, with face-painting and kids' games, and light a braai for the day. Be sure to invite the neighbourhood for maximum exposure!

Use the BetterBond preapproval feature

Generate excitement about the prospect of buying a home - one agent suggests using the free BetterBond Preapproval app to help buyers understand their affordability.

Free coffee vouchers

Negotiate an alliance with a nearby barista and entice buyers to enjoy an aromatic cuppa while they tour the show house.

"By appointment only"

Schedule viewings every 15 minutes - this creates a sense of urgency and often results in faster sales and better pricing for the seller.

Gifts and merchandise

People love to receive gifts. Several of our agents recommend giving out useful Chas Everitt merchandise and keeping a few soft toys on hand to gift to children.

Be kind

One agent pointed out the power of courteous behaviour by suggesting that agents should compliment buyers and extend special treatment, especially toward children. It costs nothing to be kind and it builds rapport and trust.
