Chas Everitt hires star agent to recruit top industry talent

Category News

The Chas Everitt International property group has just announced the appointment of Ryan Kourie to the newly-created position of Strategic Account and Team Integration Specialist at its Johannesburg headquarters.

"A multi-award winning agent with extensive experience of different market cycles and an in-depth understanding of our industry, Ryan left another large real estate group to join us and gain the opportunity to take his career in a different and exciting direction," says Chas Everitt International CEO Berry Everitt.

"He will now be playing a key role in furthering the growth of our group by developing and maintaining relationships with other leading agents and independent agencies around the country, and exposing them to the advantages of joining Chas Everitt, by focusing on the superior support and service we can offer them and the remarkable results we are getting by rethinking the traditional approach to estate agency in SA.

"As a globally-connected, full-service brokerage, we operate in both physical and cloud office environments, and our agents have 24/7 access to a truly outstanding range of collaborative tools and training opportunities, thanks to our industry-leading technologies - and our continuous efforts to anticipate and meet new customer needs.

"In addition, we pride ourselves on offering the highest levels of customer service to create a brilliant first - and lasting - impression of Chas Everitt, and our agents enjoy handsome rewards and recognition for their part in this."

Everitt says it is understood that declaring a strategy to purposefully identify and recruit the best real estate talent in SA will probably be regarded as audacious in an industry that has traditionally been diffident about any headhunting activity, "but making bold moves is part of our DNA.

"In fact we want to spread the word that we are daring to be different - and that we are achieving big things while others continue to defend old ideas and positions. Agents need to know that Chas Everitt is the group that rewards creative thinking in pursuit of positive outcomes, that embraces varied opinions and that encourages our people to explore new possibilities as they seek to reach their highest professional and personal potential."

Kourie, whose real estate career began in 2005, says: "It is clear that, following the post-Covid boom sales period, the real estate market is now heading for another turning point, and that this change will be accelerated over the next 12 to 18 months by the rising cost of living and higher interest rates, which will combine to make buyers much more cautious.

"It will also make property sellers and landlords much more service and value-conscious, which means that they will be looking for agents that they can really trust to do two things: firstly to give them sage and unbiased advice, and secondly to deliver on their mandates."

In addition, he notes, excellent agents who are really committed to the industry will increasingly seek out those real estate companies and groups that have the know-how and vision, as well as the resources, to help them get even closer to their clients during the slowdown - and by becoming trusted advisors, to generate more of the repeat and referral business that they know is the key to thriving in any market conditions.

"And I believe that Chas Everitt will be foremost among those groups, not least because it is always a step ahead in anticipating changing customer expectations, and providing the tools, training and practical and personal support that agents need in order to provide exceptional service and gain customers for life."
