No slowdown in lockdown for these Pretoria agents

Category News

The Nomad© real estate sales model that was introduced to SA's capital city by Chas Everitt International early last year has taken the local property market by storm - and enabled the group's local franchise to notch up a whopping R70m worth of home sales in the past three months, despite the COVID-19 hard lockdown which took many estate agents out of action during April and May.

"Unlike many other agents, we were busy right through lockdown," says Herman Louw, co-owner of the Chas Everitt Pretoria franchise, "and June was actually our best sales month since we opened 18 months ago.

"Most of our sales during the second quarter were in the R600 000 to R2m price range, with a large percentage involving first-time buyers taking advantage of the steep drop in interest rates that has made it easier for them to qualify for home loans and easier to afford the monthly repayments.

"However, we also sold several upmarket properties sold for more than R3m each, and earlier this month, we also sold a R6,9m property in the plush suburb of Waterkloof Ridge that had been on the market for almost a year."

He says the Old and New East, the Moot area and Montana are currently the busiest sales areas in Pretoria, but notes that the franchise has expanded from three to 50 Nomad© agents who now serve buyers and sellers in almost every corner of the metro.

"Our office was essentially the pilot operation for Nomad©, which is a real estate sales platform designed and built to enable agents to work completely remotely and escape fixed farming areas, while still always having access to our best-of-breed business support systems, national and international marketing platforms and world-class training.

"This enables Chas Everitt agents to offer clients really exceptional service no matter where they are, and earn more at the same time - and it definitely gave us the edge during the hard lockdown. While many other agents and agencies were struggling because they were not used to working remotely or lacked the technologies and systems necessary to do so really effectively, our agents were able to carry on doing deals from their homes."
