The Fourways and Lanseria areas to the north and north-west of Johannesburg have been a hive of home-buying activity in the past year, especially since the announcement that the Lanseria Smart City project will be going ahead.

Another driver has been the growing convergence of the remote working and estate living trends, which has prompted renewed interest even in older estates such as Dainfern and Fourways Gardens, as well as in the Blair Atholl, Monaghan Farm and Stonehaven estates closer to Lanseria Airport.

But probably the biggest beneficiary has been the Dainfern Valley Estate, one of this year's top estates in terms of the number and value of home sales achieved.

Brian Falconer and Richard Miller, the resident Chas Everitt International team in the Dainfern area, say this is not surprising since the 17ha lifestyle estate has wide appeal, with built homes ranging from around 400sqm to 900sqm under roof, and selling at prices from around R4,5m all the way up to R28m.

Their most recent sale in the estate is a five-bedroom, double-storey home with panoramic river views, which was priced at R7,9m.

The average stand is around 1000sqm and some double stands of around 2000sqm are available. There are some 335 properties in the estate, including some sectional title complexes, where unit prices start at around R1,4m for a two-bedroom apartment, they note.

"Dainfern Valley also offers state-of-the-art security as well as 7km of riverside and park walking, cycling or jogging trails along the Jukskei River. Residents can also enjoy private parks and recreational facilities such as picnic spots, tennis courts, a communal pool, an off-lead dog park and convenient, direct access via a golf cart path to Dainfern College.

"The Dainfern Golf Estate also encourages Dainfern Valley residents to become country members and enjoy all its facilities."

Security provisions at Dainfern Valley include fingerprint identification access, infra-red CCTV, electric boundary fences with electronic beams and two 24/7 patrolling security vehicles with armed guards.

The estate is also conveniently located close to Dainfern College, Steyn City College, Reddam College Helderfontein and The American School, and only a few minutes' drive from shopping centres such as Dainfern Square, Broadacres and Fourways Mall.
