Waterfall Property Market Report

The completion of the dual carriageway linking Hillcrest and Kloof via Waterfall means this “Cinderella” suburb is now all set for a boom in property demand.
That’s the word from Clint Ellice, principal of the Chas Everitt International license serving Durban’s Upper Highway region. “During the expansion of the local arterial Inanda Road, access to Hillcrest was a shambles, but now that the roadworks have been completed, we expect to see a substantial increase in demand for homes in Waterfall,” he says.
Meanwhile, extensive development of both exclusive lifestyle estates and commercial ventures can be expected to continue apace in the whole “Outer West” region of Durban, also known as the Upper Highway and boasting some of the best weather in SA and an unrivalled country lifestyle.
“The Cotswold Downs Golf Estate, Le Domaine, Clifton Hill, Kirtlington Equestrian Estate and 101 Acutts are just some of the luxury estates that now grace this area, and with the Watercrest Mall due to be completed shortly, I am expecting that Waterfall will shortly become a very ‘happening’ area.”
And, Ellice says, for those who can’t afford Kloof and Hillcrest, Waterfall is a very viable option, as it offers good value entry-level homes that can be upgraded and improved as families and incomes grow.
What is more, the Upper Highway area is renowned countrywide for its educational institutions, including top private schools such as Thomas More College, St Mary’s DSG, Highbury and Kearnsey College, as well as Hillcrest Christian Academy, Hillcrest Primary, Hillcrest High School, Â Waterfall College, Gillitts, Montesorri, Forest View Primary, Winston Park, Kloof Junior Primary, Kloof Senior Primary and Kloof High School.”
